Savage people,
this post is for information only, no technical question asked here.
Last weekend I installed the new muffler I got from Bill Werner. (See my post "Original Auspuff"
way down this forum). He sold me his spare muffler he had for mere $20 bucks, however shipment
over here was a bit more. I had a hard time getting my old one off, eventually hard to take the complete
header pipe with muffler off to be able to twist both parts apart with 2 people.
The new one slipped on easily, reinstalled everything and immediately went out for a test ride. GREAT SOUND!
It really sounds deeper and throatier than the old one I had, obviously there must be differences between
american and german Savage exhausts systems, even though they look the same. Only difference is something
saying about american emission control on this one, but what the heck.
I'm going to modify it a bit more, want to drill nice little holes in it like someone suggested in this forum.
Also I've seen this on a Holland Savage during the Melderslo meeting, it sounded great. I'll keep my old one
just in case the Polizei will stop me and makes trouble, and I can reinstall it every time I have to take it to
the inspection (TÜV).
Now I'm ready for the spacer procedure, we'll wait and see,
ride safe everyone,
Alfred
P.S.: Bill, come to Tennessee to see your old/new Auspuff.....!
